Bonac Lights Are Back!
December 5, 2022
On Friday, December 2nd, the Student Association had its first Bonac Lights kick-off for this year. Don’t worry if you missed it; it will take place every weekend until Christmas Break! It was a great night to unite the community in supporting our school’s clubs and feeling the warmth of the holiday season.
The Band, Chorus, and Dance Team performances were incredible, and it was obvious that the crowd enjoyed all the activities. In the cafeteria, different tables gave visitors a chance to play games and make holiday-themed crafts. The costumes grabbed the attention of many, particularly young children. The kids loved taking pictures with their favorite characters with their faces painted by the Student Association. A little boy named James whispered to me, saying that he loved Olaf (junior Chris Chimbo was inside the costume).
Shout out to all the volunteers; you did an outstanding job helping out all night. Many of the faculty also came with their families, and it was great to see everyone, including our own Principal, Mrs. Smith, with her family. Many clubs did their part by serving donuts, hot cider, hot cocoa, popcorn, hot dogs, chili, horchata, arepas, colada morada, and natilla. The food was all delicious. Among the clubs and groups participating were the Boys Scout Troop 298, Robotics Club, Fashion Club, Spanglish Club, Century Club, Inclusion Club, Key Club, LGBTQ Club, Art Club, AweSEM Club, Class of 2024, and the Class of 2026. Outside, the lights were lovely, and there were more options for food from Tiki Taco.
On December 16th, there will be a gingerbread contest that you won’t want to miss! The night overall was fantastic, and couldn’t have happened without the help of the custodians, volunteers, and of course, Mrs. Barbaretti and Mrs. MacNish.
